All of our members are volunteers who give up their time to support their community.  Although CC members are unpaid, they ARE accountable.  CC elections are held every three years - the latest took place in May this year.

Political Representatives

Although Drylaw Telford is a recognised community, different ward and parliamentary boundaries and different voting systems have resulted in Drylaw and Telford being served by different councillors and Members of Parliament.  It is quite confusing, but at the moment we are served by:

City of Edinburgh Council:

Drylaw's councillor is Lesley Hinds (Muirhouse/Drylaw ward) while the councillor representing Telford is Iain Whyte (Craigleith ward).  Drylaw and Telford will be reunited again as part of the new Inverleith Ward when multi-member 'super-wards' are introduced in May's council elections.

Members of Parliament:

Edinburgh West MP John Barrett represents Drylaw at Westminster while Telford is now part of Mark Lazarowicz' North & Leith constituency.

Scottish Parliament:

Both Drylaw and Telford come under the Edinburgh West constituency.  Margaret Smith is our MSP, and with proportional representation we can also call on the services of a further seven Lothians list MSPs.

European Parliament:

Drylaw and Telford are part of the Lothians constituency, represented by no less than seven Euro MPs.
