Tuesday 13 March, Next Generation at Newhaven Harbour, 7 - 9pm.
 
The subject of the third and final community council training event is 'Engaging with Communities'.  Subjects being covered are: Representation on CCs, Consulting with communities are representing their views, Standards for Community Engagement, Involving Equalities Groups and Resources & Support.

Ordinary Business meeting

Tuesday 27 February, Next Generation at Newhaven Harbour, 7 - 9pm. 

The second community council training event focuses on 'Community Planning'. Topics are:  Background to Community Planning, National and Local context and CCs roles in Community Planning.

West Local Development Committee meeting.  With the Scottish Parliamentary and Local Government Elections taking place on 3 May there will be an exhibition of Election Information with boundary maps, lists of polling places and officials on hand to answer voting queries. 
Drylaw Telford CC has also applied for an LDC grant to support our Open Space work and this may be tabled at the meeting.

Meeting to discuss community planning arrangements

Tuesday 6 February, Next Generation at Newhaven Harbour, 7 - 9pm 

The city council has organised a series of training events for community councillors. The first of these concentrates on 'Roles and Responsibilities', and covers:Legal Framework and the Scheme for Community Councils, Responsibilities of Community Councillors, Responsibilities of Office Bearers and Equality Issues and DDA requirments. CC Meeting.Presentation of Thomas Tierney Award. Members are asked to attend from 6:30pm if possible to deal with general business before the Presentation itself.
 
Tuesday 30 January:  Muirhouse Millennium Centre, 6:30 - 9pm
 
The Pilton Partnership has organised a joint meeting of all four North Edinburgh community councils (ie Drylaw Telford, West Pilton West Granton, Muirhouse Salvesen and Royston Wardieburn) to discuss how all four can work effectively together and look at community planning arrangements.  Transport and childcare are available.  If you would like to attend call Ian Stewart on 625 0045 or email:  ianstewart@piltonpartnership.co.uk

Inverleith Neighbourhood Partnership consultation event.  Drylaw Telford becomes part of the new Inverleith ward in May's elections, and so will be involved in Inverleith Neighbood Partnership, one of 12 being established across the city to improve community participation in service delivery.  DTCC office bearers have been invited to attend this initial introductory meeting.  Further details from Senior Policy Officer Michele Mulvaney on 469 3541, email:
 
Friday 19 January:  Planning & The Waterfront, 1 - 4pm
 
CC members who are interested in the waterfront development are invited to attend an information session on the planning process (presented by senior planning officer Linda Nicol) at the City Chambers followed by a site visit.  If you are interested in attending the event organised by Cllr Maginnis (there's a buffet lunch too, incidentally!), call Vivienne Shaw on 529 3299 or email:

NHS Lothian is hosting a series of public events to discuss the Health Board's Primary Care Modernisation Strategy, and this is the opportunity for the people of North Edinburgh to have their say.
