The second community council training event focuses on 'Community Planning'. Topics are:  Background to Community Planning, National and Local context and CCs roles in Community Planning. 

 

 

West Local Development Committee meeting.  With the Scottish Parliamentary and Local Government Elections taking place on 3 May there will be an exhibition of Election Information with boundary maps, lists of polling places and officials on hand to answer voting queries. 

Drylaw Telford CC has also applied for an LDC grant to support our Open Space work and this may be tabled at the meeting. 

 

 

Meeting to discuss community planning arrangements

The city council has organised a series of training events for community councillors. The first of these concentrates on 'Roles and Responsibilities', and covers:Legal Framework and the Scheme for Community Councils, Responsibilities of Community Councillors, Responsibilities of Office Bearers and Equality Issues and DDA requirments. Inverleith Neighbourhood Partnership consultation event.  Drylaw Telford becomes part of the new Inverleith ward in May's elections, and so will be involved in Inverleith Neighbood Partnership, one of 12 being established across the city to improve community participation in service delivery.  DTCC office bearers have been invited to attend this initial introductory meeting.  Further details from Senior Policy Officer Michele Mulvaney on 469 3541, email:
