Wednesday 15 August

The main item of business was the ongoing problems of the Number 17 bus terminus on Groathill Road North.  Representatives from Lothian Buses attended the meeting to hear community concerns about potentially dangerous traffic conditions caused by the use of the bus stop opposite the Church as a terminus.  Lothian Buses will investigate the issue and will recommend that a representative from DTCC is invited to the next Bus Stop Working Group meeting.
The community council also agreed our representation on both the Pilton Partnership and North Edinburgh Area Renewal (NEAR) Boards.  Jackie Brown and Caroline Pickering will represent Drylaw Telford on the Pilton Partnership until next May, while John Stuart will be our NEAR representative.

Wednesday 31 May:  Annual General Meeting

The first meeting of the new community council following the April/May election process was chaired by Cllr Hinds, who welcomed members old and new.  For the first time in our history the CC had more nominations than places, and, but for a few last minute withdrawals, an election would have to have been held.

Office Bearers for the forthcoming year were agreed as:

Thomas Brown (Chair), Lorna Cluness (Vice Chair), Dave Pickering (Secretary) and Jackie Brown (Treasurer).

It was also agreed that the final vacancy for Nominated Groups would go to Drylaw Parish Church.  Evelyn Crawford will be the representative.

Following the business meeting, presentations were made to members who decided not to stand for another three year term.  Jon Stephenson, Kathy Ferguson, Evelyn Crawford (briefly!) and Bill Martin each received small gifts as a token of gratitude for their enthusuastic support of the community council.

Wednesday 26 April 2006, 7pm

Normal monthly CC business meeting, although it was our final meeting before the May elections and the last meeting for some of our current members.  Stuart Farquhar of the city council's City Development Transport section was unable to attend the meeting.  (Members were asked at last month's meeting to come up with questions they would like Stuart to answer at April's meeting, but none were forthcoming).

28 March CC meeting:

The March meeting of the CC was once again well attended with plenty lively discussion.  Guest speaker was Pilton Partnership manager Ian Cooke, who talked about the progress being made with the formation of the three new CCs in North Edinburgh.  Drylaw Telford CC will continue to receive support from the Partnership for the timebeing although it seems likely now that Drylaw Telford will be split from the other north Edinburgh CCs when Local Community Planning Partnerships (LCPPs) are formed next year.

The meeting was also attended by Karen McKay of North Edinburgh Local Office and Safer Communities Unit Sgt Euan Smith, both of whom made very positive contributions on progress with antisocial behaviour issues in the area.
